MA CSD: Admission Requirements

The Communication Sciences and Disorders program at Our Lady of the Lake University
participates in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Centralized Application Service
(CSDCAS). All applicants applying to the 天美影院graduate program in Communications and
Learning Disorders program must apply online using the CSDCAS application process.
It is recommended that applicants review the CSDCAS process before beginning an application. The CSDCAS website includes a 鈥淏efore You Begin鈥 section that provides information on the process.

Requirements for Regular Admission
- Application for admission completed through the CSDCAS system
- Optional official score report on the Graduate Record Examination (not required); test must be taken within the last five years; not required for applicants with master鈥檚 degrees from regionally accredited institutions; must be submitted through the CSDCAS system via code 7519
- Official transcripts from all regionally accredited colleges and universities attended;
transcripts must include baccalaureate and higher (if applicable) degrees earned and
dates conferred; must be submitted through the CSDCAS system
(Download special instructions for submitting transcripts from outside the United States and transcripts not in English ). - A bachelor鈥檚 degree in CDIS with a minimum cumulative grade point average 3.0 (on a 4-point scale) on undergraduate work attempted and at least 3.00 in undergraduate work in CDIS; for applicants with a master鈥檚 degree, a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on graduate work.
- Three references submitted through the CSDCAS system
- Personal statement/essay submitted through the CSDCAS system
- Resume submitted through the CSDCAS system
- Selected applicants will be invited to a group interview with CDIS department faculty

Note: It can take up to four weeks for CSDCAS to process documents and consider your application
complete and verified. It is strongly recommended that you submit all documents, test scores and application information as soon as
possible.
For those accepted into the program, a $500 non-refundable advanced-tuition deposit is required.
Graduate Program Information
The master's program accepts up to 25 students per year into the incoming class and accepted students begin the program full-time in the fall.
- Average incoming GPA for last three years (2020-2023) = 3.45
- An invitation to take part in a group interview including small group discussion of a selected research article is extended to the top 100 applicants based on overall rankings. Acceptable performance in the group interview provides the last ranking for admission.
- Full-time students typically graduate in 5 semesters if they follow the recommended sequence of courses for each semester. Part-time students will usually take 8-10 semesters to graduate.
