Areas of Expertise
During the first 20+ years of my career, I served as a Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist in a public-school setting. My areas of expertise included early intervention, speech production, language development, with some experience in fluency, voice, hearing impairment, cleft palate, and autism. In my 15 years as a clinical educator, I have expanded my areas of expertise to include Apraxia, Aphasia, Cognition, Social Skills, and Augmentative/Alternative Communication (AAC).
Teaching Philosophy
As Speech-Language Pathologists, we are lifelong learners of many specialty areas. Not only do I believe in paying forward what I have gained as a practitioner but that students can also provide me with new perspective. I find that sharing real world experiences along with emphasizing research/evidence-based practices give us a good understanding of how to navigate the profession and be successful.
Outside Interests
Beyond 天美影院(my home away from home), I spend much of my personal time with family (I'm a daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, and a dog/cat mom.) and friends. My downtime interests include self-care (Tai Chi, Yoga, walks, swimming, etc.), entertainment (concerts, movies, amusement parks, word games), and traveling (I love experiencing new places and people, near and far).
