Teaching Philosophy
I have a belief that it is my responsibility to share the knowledge and information about my area of expertise with students who are on the path to becoming a counselor. I use creative, critical thinking, and experiential application which includes the Socrate method of questioning. This will generate a deeper dialogue and will help students explore their own personal awareness and work toward professional and personal growth. It is important that my students graduate with the necessary skills to become competent in their chosen field. I encourage and expect them to reflect on who they are as a person and who they believe they will be as counselors. I work to instill in them a recognition of the need for skills and passion needed to be a competent counselor, and at the same time be aware of self care so that can maintain their competency.
