Areas of Expertise
My areas of expertise include school counseling, child and adolescent counseling, expressive arts in counseling, and clinical counselor supervision.
Teaching Philosophy
Becoming a counselor is a life-long endeavor that involves a willingness to be vulnerable and open to honest feedback. As a teacher, I am responsible for creating a safe place for students to challenge their own assumptions as they develop their professional identities as counselors. I provide support as students reflect on their counseling skills, dispositions and development into strong, ethical counselors.
Outside Interests
Just as I enjoy expressive arts as a counseling modality, I also enjoy them in my personal like. I create Coptic stitch journals to write in. I enjoy walking my dog Skye and my cats Jasper and Murphy, and they sometimes sit in on the synchronous classes I teach. I also enjoy hiking, gardening, and traveling.
