Honors Program Living-Learning Community
The 天美影院Honors Program Living-Learning Community (LLC) is an option for first-year students in the Honors Program, offering a strong network of support and connection through scholarship and service.
By becoming a member of the Honors LLC, students will develop a greater sense of belonging in an environment that encourages them to think more critically and to gain deeper knowledge. They will open their minds to new ideas, perspectives and experiences, and will create a sense of connection through scholarship, service and fellowship.
In addition to moving into the residence hall earlier than other students, living together on a floor in Flores Hall, and taking classes together, students in the Honors LLC will:
- Participate in weekly small group sessions, facilitated by a student mentor, that help address common challenges of adjusting to life as a first-year honors student;
- Enjoy monthly programming to include game nights, movie nights, guest lectures and more;
- Dialogue with other honors students, students in the Social Justice LLC, and faculty as a chance to grow and reflect on the college experience and the important spiritual, intellectual and social questions of our time;
- Spend time getting to know the founders of Our Lady of the Lake University -- the Sisters of Divine Providence;
- Enjoy opportunities for community service and campus leadership; and
- Get a head start on opportunities to build the Honors Digital Portfolio, a requirement for graduating senior honors students and an achievement that makes honors graduates stand out in job and graduate school applications.
